Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Numia (“Numia”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information. Numia is a product of Evervolve Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17141654), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Camden, London WC2H 9JQ. We act as the data controller for the information described below.

Information we collect

• Account & profile. Your email address, and the profile details you choose to provide — name, country, gender, age or date of birth, education details, and an optional profile picture.
• Learning activity. Your quiz sessions, answers, scores, and progress, so we can show your statistics and weak spots.
• Voice data. When you use voice features, short audio recordings of your spoken answers are processed to transcribe them, and question text is processed to generate speech (see “Voice processing” below).
• Payment information. Subscriptions are handled by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details; we receive limited billing data such as plan, status, and country.
• Technical data. Basic device, browser, and usage information, and locally stored preferences (see “Cookies and local storage”).

How we use your information

• To provide the quiz, save your progress, and personalise practice.
• To create and manage your account and authenticate sign-in.
• To process subscriptions, trials, and payments.
• To respond to support requests.
• To maintain security and prevent abuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

Our legal bases (UK GDPR) include performance of our contract with you, your consent (e.g. for voice features), our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and compliance with law.

Voice processing

Voice narration and speech recognition are provided by ElevenLabs. When you speak an answer, the audio is sent to ElevenLabs to be transcribed; question and feedback text is sent to be spoken aloud. We do not use your voice recordings to train models, and we do not retain the audio beyond what is needed to return a result. You can always type instead of using the microphone.

Service providers

We share information with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
• ElevenLabs — speech-to-text and text-to-speech.
• Resend — sending login codes and emails.
• Cloudflare — bot protection (Turnstile) and security.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Our payment provider — subscription billing.

Children's privacy

Numia is designed to be suitable for learners of school age. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, a parent or guardian should set up and manage the account and provide consent on your behalf. We only collect the information needed to provide the service and do not knowingly use children's data for advertising. Parents and guardians may contact us to review or delete a child's information.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme and currency. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and as needed to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights under the UK GDPR and, for South African users, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). These include the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email support@numia.pro. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the UK, EU, United States, and South Africa. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the service or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
